From Beth Durfey, Dad's 2nd missionary companion's wife.

Hi Myrna,

Thanks for sending the article about the Payson Temple. Russell thinks they need to leave Nephi with Manti. I think it would be nice also.  I hate to see all the great Nephi people leaving. I know they may need the help when they open the new temple.  My sister, Maureen, missed helping opening the Huston Temple by moving to the SL Valley by she helped with one of the new temples. I can't remember it was the last one that opened.  She said it was a job as they did not give them enough people to start with. There were not even enough to fill all the jobs.  I hope they learned with that temple & will not do that with the Payson Temple. The only experienced people starting that temple were a few workers from the River Jordan Temple. They used them as supervisors. That temple does as Manti, & the sister fill all the positions. Maureen was not use to that as River Jordan has divisions where sisters are in a division for greeting, baptism, one that sits the posts, one that does the veil, one for initiatory, one to go on sessions, I'm not quite sure how they broke it all down but Maureen was trying to explain it. I probably got it all wrong. but it was not as we have it.  She had a hard time as they didn't give her enough people to fill all the positions when you consider how many places there need to cover. She is sweet but will not be walked over as I am, She was in a meeting before opening the temple to make sure all was ready, she told them that she did not have enough sisters & that she would be able to cover these places & she would have to let the other places go until they got her some more sisters.  They eventually got her more sisters & things are going much more smoothly now.

I was not going to go into all that my fingers just got carried away. LOL

I have been very pleased to see you playing many of the games I play. My problem is I have gotten myself into so many I am going to have to back out of a few of them.  I really like the gardening ones.  Some of them think they have to turn into towns. Now I am now sure I want to continue playing them.  I will have to see how they turn out.  I really love the collection games.  101 eggs & more, egg buddies, hatchlings.  I need to get back to working with Indexing, & Genealogy. I have let those go for too long now. When they changed things around the programs wouldn't work on my computer then I changed to my laptop. I need to go over to the Stake Family Search Center, that is not the name but you know what I mean. They will get me set up again, help me on my way. I hope it will not take too long. As I am getting worse at being able to sit up for long. I need to force myself though.

I'll talk to you later.  This is much longer than I planned on.

Have a wonderful day,

My friends in my ward in Nephi and I are thinking that we will fast and pray from now until the temple is opened that there will be a lot of people move into the Payson area. We are praying that they will have so many build homes there that they will have to organize new stakes. That will result in there being too many stakes for the temple to take and we will HAVE to stay back so we will still be in the Manti Temple district. The prophet would say, "Sorry, but there are just too many stakes in the Payson Temple district so you will need to keep going to the Manti Temple." Then we will all cheer and be happy. None of us want to leave Manti. Now, you have to agree, it could happen. Love, M

You are right I really could happen, if enough of us fasted & prayed about it. I will join you in the praying as I can't fast right now because of my health but I will pray with you.  Russell was thinking that it might be a possibility as we talked about that a while ago. He told me there were some new housing developments going in & there will be new ones go in near the temple. In Utah there are always new housing close to the temple. Someone should build a large condo so some of the older people could move in there & have no yard work to do & could just walk to the temple. They have a place like that in Cardston, Alberta, It is very nice for the older people who lived in the town further away & now want to retire doing temple work & genealogy work. I do hope it works & that you will be able to still come here.
