Do Not Weep

I found this old favorite of mine. This is the one I think of at funerals.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glint in snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
My soul has found that better place
I live there through my Savior’s grace.
My memory dances in your mind
And if you look there you will find
I live in all the joy of being
I am the song I used to sing.
Do not stand at my grave and moan
I am not there, I have gone home.
