Wow! You really did have some pictures of the Mexican Border Volunteers. Thanks a million.
It is a good thing I wasn't quite ready with Richard's written account of his experiences in WWII. So I hadn't sent them in. I did have Ray and Claude's pictures done on CD but I'll redo them and add these.
D: 1. Do you have any idea which is Ray on Fort Front? Is he in back on the right?
M: Yes, I think that is him.
D: 2. On Cavalry Again is Ray there? I wonder if Claude could be at left. Can you read the date on the postmark? I think that is Claude but I wasn't certain.
M: The only part of the date I can make out is the year, 1916.
3. And Smith Mexican Conflict. Could Ray be seated on left? Yes
D: 4. On Fort Back it says: "Fort Kumehameha, H.T. 3rd Co." Were they in Hawaii Territory?
M: No, I think it was an Indian name.
D: 5. On the big one you sent in pieces it seems to say, " "No 7, Utah Cavalry, Nogales, Aug. 6, 1916". Is that what you make out?
M: Yes.
Thanks, Donnette
