We had a lucky day. We went to the Mormon Tabernacle Christmas Concert in Salt Lake. We didn't get tickets so we planned on standing in line a good long time (in the cold!) but, no sooner had we arrived, but someone came from the ticket office and gave us (Dad, Auntie and me) tickets for the performance. (Of course, Auntie had been there a half hour before we got there so she did have a cold face.) That meant, since it was just 3:30 p.m., that we could go to the Lion House and have supper, see the Christmas lights and still be inside (the doors opened at 6:30 p.m.) in time to get good seats. We got to enjoy the concert (and it was wonderful!) and I didn't have to freeze to do it. Hanging out with Auntie Helen is good luck, don't you think? Singer Brian Stokes Mitchell and actor Edward Herrmann were the featured guest artists for Ring, Christmas Bells, this year’s Christmas concerts by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square. Stokes sang a number about the animals at Christmas but, he sang it in animal voice. What fun! He was here in September for the pioneer concert but we didn't go to that. Herrmann told about the writing of "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day." Odd that I had already chosen that for my Christmas letter. Love, M
