The things my grandkids tell me!

While Rachel was visiting me last Wednesday, she wanted me to get down on the floor with her. I said, "I don't know, Rachel, I am getting kind of old."

She then said: "I don't want to get old. I don't want to grow up. I want to stay little and live with my mom and dad forever."

I know the feeling. I didn't want to get old either. But it is better than the alternative, don't you think? Faced with dying young or living to be old, I will take the latter.

I love the things that children say. Now that I am working with the older dementia patients, they have reverted back to child-like ways, and they have some funny saying as well. It reminds me of how much I love words!
