The Calvary with Claude and Raymond Smith

I thought that you may recognize which man was which. I know them only from photos. I didn't know how many photos of each of them you had seen. I need to get out a magnifying glass, I guess. I'm not certain I can tell even then. There is no writing on the back of the photo.

The Smith boys were good-looking and clean-shaven. I need to compare the faces in zoom mode with their photos and see if I can find them. As we looked at the photos, my children and I, one seemed to think my grandfather is third from the left and is seated. On better inspection, I do not think that it is.

TB Test for Donovin and Erin

The babies, or anyone else, have to go to the same place to have the TB analysis as the place that gave the test. It will not be certain until 12 noon on Friday. Of course, if it starts to puff up, I guess we will have an idea.

They seem well. Wouldn’t they have some sort of symptoms? Back to the internet to check that out.

Last Night

We have over thirty young women, and most of them were in attendance. I was a little upset that my Laurels weren't there, but then two of them showed up later. They had gotten stuck in traffic. It gets pretty bad on some nights. We were in traffic for two hours in December, just because of Christmas time shoppers. It normally take me about 45 minutes to get to the temple from my house. 

The assistant to the President spoke to us last night. He talked of symbols in the temple and in our religion. It was lost on some of the younger ones, but the adults and some of the older ones got it.

Mikaela is home for the morning. She has to go in for a sonogram. She is having problems with lactose intolerance and they just want to make sure that the stomach aches she is having aren't related to anything else. She also has to see a gastroenterologist next Thursday. They will have her drink milk and then breathe into a mask. The mask will trap the gases from her breath, and from that they will be able to tell if she is lactose intolerant. That is a big step from having to save all her bms and take them to the lab within twenty minutes, to have them do testing. I like the new technology! I will keep you informed when I get the test results.

Last Night

Went to the Temple last night with a bunch of youth. I sure hope that I was more reverent than some of our youth. They have us wait in the chapel while others are doing the work, then cycle them through. They can get really rowdy. Braden is always good, but he gets ostracized because of it. Vance, Where Do You Find?

My son left home at the age of 18 and is now 22 years old. He  never calls. I am basically sitting here saying, “Why did I do all that: the  diapers, the PTA meetings?” Are there ever any rewards to parenting? I can’t  think of any.

I believe that before anyone becomes a  parent, he or she should view the experience of rearing children—which  is often great fun—as the reward and not regard parenting as a means to an  end. Parents who simply suffer the hassle of family life in the hopes that  they will be rewarded with grateful lifetime companions or compassionate  care-givers in old age are courting a loss on two counts: 1) They don’t  realize the joy that can be found in parenting; and 2) the kids might not like  those roles.

Howard's brother, Neil came in yesterday for a visit, and I had to take someone to hear the results of her biopsy. I haven't had time to check the email until this morning. Go ahead with the work. Some things you don't delay, especially when she wants the work done so desperately. 

Have a great time. I wish I could have been there, but I will be there by proxy--Siovhan is going to put in an appearance. Make sure you curtsey and bow when the Princess arrives. I love you.
