Auntie wants you to know about Richard
We got our wires crossed. By the time you got my message we had it figured out. Helen thought I told her not to come on Thursday so she went to the Temple which turned out great. Jim and Kaitlyn came and helped me get my Christmas all put away and made my bed for me. I cannot get the sheets back on it after I wash them. It was good to have them here. She goes back to the Y. She is doing so well there. She received a letter; she made the Dean's list. She works so hard. To get the scholarship to go to school a semester in Brazil, she had to learn Portuguese first so now she has two languages; we are so proud of her.
The Doctors let Richard come home from the 26th (that day for flying and sleeping) until Sunday. His friend Pete came with him. They spent Thursday afternoon with me then went with Jiim's family to dinner and saw Temple Square lights. Friday they went to lunch with his brothers and sister then Sat. afternoon evening Jim & Karma had an open house for all the well famlily members to come. it was so good to see him. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way he got a bad respieratory infection so instead of going back to the hospital for more chemo this week he is taking antibiotics for that. He said yesterday, he is feeling some better. He will go into the hospital for a month; two series of chemo then stem cell implant. he will be in isolation which is hard. A very long month. Thank goodness for texting so we can keep in touch.
HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR. LOVE YOU, EVA
Let the others know about Richard.
Are You Both OK?
Myrna: I have noticed that you are not sending out many e-mails. I miss them and wondered if the cause of fewer e-mails was some poor health for one or both of you. I do love you. Happy New Year.
Gordon wrote: We are doing fine. I am just old and slow.
We love and appreciate you.
I have enjoyed your emails.
I will get on the ball again.
Keep smiling and everyone will wonder what you have done. Don’t tell them. Just keep smiling.
Love,
Gordon and Roberta

I can't find the sheet.
I cannot find the sheet I had made for the initiatory. Granted, I have not had a lot of time to try and find the file but I did try. My problem is that my daughter, Julie, the one who was four months pregnant lost the baby. The baby died inside her and we had to go through all of that emergency. I have had her kids, upset and worried, and I am going back to Sanpete today to take them back and to take care of her Wednesday and Thursday. I am sorry to let you all down. She is age 40 and this may be her last opportunity to have another child. She has large cysts on one ovary and there is a concern that it may be cancer. We have been fasting, as a family, and she had a blessing. At any rate, I have to disappoint you.
Cheryl Utley wrote: Sorry to hear about your daughter, not to worry about the sheet. Take care of your concerns. Love Cheryl

Dear Myrna.
So sorry to hear of the problems you are having with your daughter. I don't know about the sheet you are missing, but I'm sure all will go well on Friday--or as well as it usually goes. My prayers are with you all. Love, Annette

To Joan Meade
We don't need to tease you, Joan, about the ward from down south coming into the temple to do initiatory while you are on duty. In spite of the fact that you were not there, they showed up en mass on Saturday. Two of them had 30 names each. The rest had 20. I think you may be off the hook. Of course, knowing your attraction, I could be wrong.
From Ben Re: Click Return
Myrna wrote: I don't want you to take time from your work to write to just me. I don't even want a thank you note. Keep on working. Just click, return and send if you got your packages and cards with money. I just worried that they might not show up. Love you lots and lots, both of you. Grammy
Ben wrote: Ah, grandma, I've got time to thank you. I did get the cards, the money and the love in the package. Thank you so very much.
Myrna wrote: I wonder if you will ever know how much we love you and how proud we are of the good work you are doing? Maybe when you are very old, like us. Thanks for the response.

Tasty Cookies and Fruit Juice
About those tasty cookies that use fruit juice instead of sugar AnnMarie wrote: These look yummy. I am sure you are still checking your blood sugar but these might still spike it. Tropical fruits are really high in sugars and should be used sparingly. Tropical fruits like bananas, kiwi, pineapple, and others are on the be wary list - at least they are in my books. I wonder what the carb count for the pineapple concentrate is. The walnuts will help. I wonder if you could use some of your homemade applesauce instead of the pineapple juice.
Myrna wrote: I can and did. My sugar didn't go up much. I ate only one. Actually, bananas are higher in sugars than pineapple. Usually, after a meal, my blood sugar has never been over 116. You measure two hours after eating. My was only 110. I was OK. Of course, I had salad, fish and green beans for supper. Then I had one cookie. The exchange was OK since I had no other grains nor fruits.
What did you decide about the kids and tomorrow?
AnnMarie: They want to come down. I am just trying to figure out how and when. Rachel doesn't think she wants to sleep there. I don't finish until close to midnight. I have to pick up the karaoke at 2 and set it up at 8:30. Not sure how to make it all work.
Myrna wrote: Julie said she could bring them down if you wanted her to. You can talk tomorrow. Tell Rachel that Mary is sleeping here.
AnnMarie wrote: OK. I thought I would talk to Julie tomorrow when the girls come during the ultrasound.
Sugar Free Oatmeal Cookies (These are quite tasty.)
Myrna Trauntvein wrote: These cookies are quite tasty and I really thought they made a good dessert.
Sugar Free Oatmeal Cookies
Delicious oatmeal, banana, and raisin cookies made in less than 30 minutes.
3 large bananas , mashed
2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 eggs
2 tbsp frozen pineapple juice (undiluted)
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup butter , melted
1/4 cup fat free milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
I cup walnuts, chopped
1/2 seedless raisins (optional)
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Mix all of the ingredients in a large bowl and let stand for 5 minutes so that the oats will absorb excess moisture. Drop dough by heaping tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Let cool for 1 minute on baking sheets and then transfer to wire racks to cool completely. (If your kids don't like raisins, just leave them out. I did and I didn't miss them.)

Yes! I am on the completed status.
Sounds like you're doing great! I wish all of our patients were as engaged and proactive as you are. We will move you to "completed" status. Would you be willing to schedule a follow-up interview with us? We try to interview completed patients every 3 months for 1 year (4 interviews) to measure (and document) progress, assess goals, answer questions, and offer suggestions for continued success. It usually takes about 15 minutes or so.
