News of Briley

Greetings to you all!

Briley is doing good.  I was able to visit her yesterday with Derek and Heather.  They are working to getting her feedings back up but are taking it slower.  She weighed 3 Lbs and 2 oz. on Friday.  They are also working with her ventilator settings.  The respiratory therapist said they are continually pushing her to get her so they aren't using the ventilator as much and so they fine tune the ventilator settings.  You can see that she is breathing some on her own which is good as that is helping her to develop her muscle tone for when she can be finally taken of the ventilator.  She is becoming more alert when she is awake and trying to look around and so is also more active when she is awake.  She truly is a little miracle.  We have been greatly blessed and appreciate all your thoughts and prayers.

Hi everyone,

I hope your New Year is going great.

Briley is doing well and is stable.  Over the weekend they had increased her feedings through the feeding tube in her nose and so they were able to remove the IV nutrient feeding she has been getting and also the IV for her sedation medicine.  On Sunday she was in distress.  Her stomach had become enlarged and she had started to throw up.  They suctioned out the milk and a lot of air in her stomach and decided maybe the sedation medication was giving her problems in her stomach and so they had to put both the sedation and nutrition IV's back in.  This also affected her lungs some and so they've been adjusting the ventilator settings.  She is stable though and doing well.  Derek and Heather are now able to see her by web came via the internet when they are not down there to see her.  She really is growing and I can't believe how long and thick her hair is becoming.  It's hard to believe she is 5 1/2 weeks old already.  She truly is amazing and such a little fighter.  Thanks for thinking of us.  We really appreciate it and Derek and Heather are grateful for all that is being done for them.  Heavenly Father is truly watching out for them and blessing them in so many ways.

Pray for David!

It is just before 8 p.m. here in the good state of Utah. David is just going into surgery. He blew his knee, the right one, once again. The doctor doing the surgery does this same type of surgery for Olympic skiers and for other skiers. David, of course, just did his at work. He was at work and knelt down and there it went. Bree picked him up and drove him to the Gunnison Hospital.

Please pray for him!!!!

I thought I would tell you that yesterday, Varian got put in as 2nd councilor in the bishorpic. It was a exciting time for me and all of the family. He has been in the bishopric before.  But this was a shock two weeks ago when they asked him.  But he will do a good job.
 
How is everyhting going?  We got some snow last night.  that's all love ya.

It would be worth $3 more to get everything there OK. She was the only one that got the contents intact. Pitts in 1941; they were together for 46 years. They raised their children in Carbon County. Mom was actively involved in public services but her greatest achievements in life were her four children. Survived by children: Kenneth J. (Janet) Pitts, Cheryl (Robert) Fazzio, Vickie (Boyd) Davis and Janet (Von) Hanson; grandchildren: Troy, Dena, April and Greg; 13 great-grand-children; and sister, Maud Fuller. We love you, Mom, rest in peace. Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 9, 2010, 2:00 p.m. at Elysian Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.

Charlotte sent me an e-mail letting me know but she just sent it. Therefore, I missed the graveside services. I guess Uncle Bob thought I would see the obituary in the newspaper. It should have been in the Deseret News but it seems to have been only in the Salt Lake Tribune which is where I found this. 

That's too bad. I'm sorry you didn't make it.

Its been a very long time since Elvis had a for real birthday! His name still gets all the TV attention today. We all remember...but you are still our family King today and we are thankful you spent many a day learning, loving and living the dream the way you have. Wally and I send our best wishes that you and Myrna enjoy a fine day doing what makes your celebration the very best.. The best gift is just being near the love, the warmth and the blessings from all those earned days when life was 9 to 5 and or 24/7! Thanks for the fine Birthday wishes you send us. Its pretty special being remembered and a good word shares considerable joy, we are extending ours to you as well. We enjoyed your Christmas card and letter and adored the photo. Nice touch! We are happy you had much travel and family visits ending with Ohio, where Todd and family could share his announcement of Bishop this past year. May you both continue good health and have enough for good food and travel this year. The Utah Transplant team will sponsor a dinner program at Little America in SLK this mid March. Wally is out over five years. 
We may attend and if so will try to make a plan to enjoy lunch or a visit then with you folks. It would be nice to see you.

Just a quick update.

Hi everyone,

Briley is doing well.  Derek and Heather went to see her yesterday and said she is growing.  They were able to hold her again outside of the incubator which they haven't done for 3 weeks.  She will be 4 weeks old on Saturday and weighs 2 lbs. 3 oz.  They are hoping to get her off the ventilator in another week or so.  Briley is truly being watched over and blessed.  We appreciate your prayers, fasting and thoughts in her behalf.
