Todd wrote: Once again, Melanie's expression. She looks like she is thinking, "Is he always going to spaz like that?"

The answer, of course, is "YES".

Kirsten wrote: Holy Cow!  It's Mary and Ryan with a strange baby!  :)

Who will be here for Thanksgiving?

Braden wrote:
grandma,
my mother informed me that you may be out of town for thanksgiving this year, if so i may go do thanksgiving with a friend. i don't want to make any plans before i know what our family will be doing, so zip me an email back.

Myrna wrote: We will be here. I don't know what your mom is thinking, perhaps she knows that both AnnMarie and Julie will not be here. Ams will stop on the way back from St. George. It is that family's turn. It is our turn for Christmas. Julie will be in Idaho. Jim's grandma turns 90 on Thanksgiving and they are having an open house and party for her. Shawn and family will be here. I don't know about the others. I hope you don't mind the few in number. We have not been invited anywhere else. We are hoping that you can come.

Love, Grammy

Myrna wrote: Sounds wonderful You know that it may be a small gathering? Jim's grandma turns 90 on Thanksgiving and they are having a party for her in Idaho. It is Brandon's turn to be in St. George (every other year). They will be in Nephi for Christmas. That is AnnMarie's non-negotiable holiday. Braden will be with us. David is thinking about it. Request from Eva

Dear Tim and Myrna,

How are you doing?  I am hanging in there.  Last  week I had two implants They should have been healed a lot but when I went in yesterday to have it checked.   The pain is still like a bad tooth ache.  He told me it is inflamed and told me to continue the antibiotics for five more days plus more percoset   Go back next Tuesday.  He had told me it would be eight weeks but knowing how slowly I heal, it might be more like a few months, already been 4 months .  Oh well, what else is new.
Jim is having a very scary eye surgery Tuesday at the former Holy Cross hospital.  They have to take  part of the muscle out above and below his eyes.  When they close, he can't get them open.  He has had this strange ailment for a few years.  They have been putting bot-ox shots above his eyes quite often with the hopes it would do the trick, it would for a little while.  We are having a family fast for him and his surgeon this Sunday and I wondered if you and your family will please remember them in your fasting.  Thanks so very much.
I hope Bree is doing better.  Seizures are pretty frightening.  I hope you are both well.  Tiffanie and her two children have had the swine flu; she a Dylan just light cases but owen was really sick with a high fever..  I got my flu short but they told me I am too old the the swine flu one; they only give it to pregnant women, children and adults who are 65.  I surely hope I don't get i t or anymore of my family or yours.  God bless you..
Love you so much,
Eva

Did you get

You are welcome. However, after being with Kirsten and her family when they went to spend their dollars, I wonder if I should also include a dime each time so they have money for the tax. Kirsten had to dig up about 8-cents in tax for each of the dollars.

About Aprons

Melanie wrote:

Kimberly, Mom used to wear an apron every Sunday as she made our dinner. I used to get her aprons out and use them as "dress-up." Probably  because of these fond memories, I have many aprons and have made several over the years. I don't use them to carry firewood, or dry tears, but I do use them, especially on Sundays and while I make crafts and things.

Thanks for sparking the memory light!
Melanie

After Apple Picking

After Apple-Picking

My long two-pointed ladder's sticking through a tree
Toward heaven still,
And there's a barrel that I didn't fill
Beside it, and there may be two or three
Apples I didn't pick upon some bough.
But I am done with apple-picking now.
Essence of winter sleep is on the night,
The scent of apples: I am drowsing off.
I cannot rub the strangeness from my sight
I got from looking through a pane of glass
I skimmed this morning from the drinking trough
And held against the world of hoary grass.
It melted, and I let it fall and break.
But I was well

Upon my way to sleep before it fell,
And I could tell
What form my dreaming was about to take.
Magnified apples appear and disappear,
Stem end and blossom end,
And every fleck of russet showing dear.
My instep arch not only keeps the ache,
It keeps the pressure of a ladder-round.
I feel the ladder sway as the boughs bend.
And I keep hearing from the cellar bin
The rumbling sound
Of load on load of apples coming in.
For I have had too much

Of apple-picking: I am overtired
Of the great harvest I myself desired.
There were ten thousand thousand fruit to touch,
Cherish in hand, lift down, and not let fall.
For all
That struck the earth,
No matter if not bruised or spiked with stubble,
Went surely to the cider-apple heap
As of no worth.
One can see what will trouble
This sleep of mine, whatever sleep it is.
Were he not gone,
The woodchuck could say whether it's like his
Long sleep, as I describe its coming on,
Or just some human sleep.
- Robert Frost

Personally, I feel just like Robert. I have picked one too many apples this year. Next year the apples will not be so abundant because LHT and I had to drastically trim the trees. We had a huge wind one night. I woke up and told LHT that I'd bet the apples were all on the ground. He wouldn't take the bet because he agreed. However, what really happened was that the apples stayed on the trees but the weight of apples and the power of wind broke the branches so they had to be cut.

At any rate, Julie and I have been bottling and are sick of apples. AnnMarie has some apples to eat, so do surrounding neighbors.
